Deadly by Julie Chibbaro

Deadly by Julie Chibbaro

Prudence is not like the other girls.  She attends school in New York City and feels somewhat like an outcast.  She is not interested in the things other girls are.  After the death of her brother and her fathers failure to return from war nine years after his departure, Prudence wants to know what causes death.  She soon takes a job with the department of health where she helps investigate a Typhoid outbreak.  Prudence's journal entries take the reader through the discovery of the woman now known as Typhoid Mary and on the journey of an intelligent young girl trying to follow her dreams.  This part medical thriller, part historical fiction will not disappoint.
