All Day Game Day!


All Day Game Day is this Saturday, November 21st from 10:30 to 5:30 pm.
Stop by and play a video game or board game and enjoy some pizza for lunch!!
This program is for teens in 6th - 12th grade only.

October


October is the month that Teen Read Week™ takes place in. We have three events planned for Teen Read Week™.


The first is a Kick Off Mixer which will take place on Sundsay, October 18th from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. There will be a chance to win a Half Price Books Gift Certificate and we will play some board games.
The second event is the Teen Advisory Board meeting and open house. Join the Teen Advisory Board (TAB) on Wednesday, October 21st from 7:30 to 8:30 pm to learn what TAB is all about.


We also have a Grand Finale and Pizza Party to wrap up Teen Read Week™. There will be a viewing of the movie Coraline and of course pizza! Wear your favorite Beyond Reality costume. Prizes will be given for the best costumes.

Twisted by Laurie Halse Anderson


I read Twisted over the weekend by Laurie Halse Anderson and really enjoyed it!
Tyler Miller has previously been viewed as a nerd, but after a spray paint prank and a summer of physical labor as a result of the prank, Tyler has shed some of his nerdy image. Twisted follows Tyler, who is starting his senior year on the many ups and downs of adolescence while trying to please his parents and win over the girl of his dreams.

Podcasting

I'm in the very early stages of trying to get a podcasting and video program set up at the library. At this point I don't have the funding for the equipment, but I'm hoping once the new fiscal year starts I can find some funding. So far here are the link's I'm checking out:
